School started back this past week following Winter break and it is nice to get back into the flow of things. I have worked on a lot in the past few weeks as I prepare for college and I even had a college visit this past Friday!
Preparing for College
For most of my college auditions, I will be performing the harp cadenza from The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky as well as Interlude from Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, then finally Passacaille by Handel. Over the break, I made major progress in the cadenza and Interlude! I will continue working with all three, but I am feeling great for my college auditions!
College Visit!
On Friday, I visited Oklahoma City University and it was amazing! I went with high hopes and was not disappointed. When I visited, I got a tour of the small, but beautiful campus. Everything about the college was incredible and I really enjoyed being able to see the environment I may be in during my college years. I also got a tour of their beautiful music campus where they have incredible resources. There was a saturation of practice rooms and SO many pianos.
I feel good to be back in school, and it only helps that I have the increased motivation of college in the future to keep me moving!
