This week I began to plan for my Original work! There's a lot to think about and a lot to plan, but the project should be great for my research!
The Concept
As I've mentioned in previous posts, I plan on arranging two contrasting songs and observing differences in the processes that I notice between the two. With the selections I made, one will be a more orchestral piece from the soundtrack to Over the Garden Wall and one will be of an Indie song from a concept album. Because of the songs I chose, there will now be a deeper level to the project as both represent themes of death that will enhance the comparison between arranging both of these. This will give a far greater focus in my project to Topic Theory than I had previously been able to incorporate, so it is a great aspect of the project that I'm looking forward to!
Making Progress
Right now, I haven't made any major strides in my project, but I've been able to plan the process I will follow for making the arrangements. Also, I've decided on recording the arrangements to strengthen the significance of the project. Coming up, I will be out of town though where I plan to make major strides towards my project!
